Mate they wont hold much power above stock, if you are not planning on modding and giving your car more power the 5 speed will service you well.

Also, check the service history and make sure it has had plenty of oil changes. If left too long, it can clog some of the lines and starve the turbo of much needed oil. Do some searches on here and you'll learne of the blown turbo's. It's only a problem if not properly maintained.

My local ford dealer reckons u only need to change the oil every 10 - 15 thou kms.

I usually try to do mine every 5. Just to make sure its going well

Has anyone ever had a problem when they turn the car off when stopping after a fairly heavy run? Some people reckon u should idle the car for at least 1 min before switching off. Im in the RFS and heading to the fire station u tend to push it a bit, and dont have the time to sit there an let it idle when the truck is waiting!!!

What about turbo timers?

They say if it's a water cooled turbo wind down is not necessary. Whether this is true or not I don't know. Stopping the motor after a high speed or normal run cuts off the oil supply to the Turbo, so this may tend to have some impact at a later stage.. I have a Land Cruiser Turbo Diesel & have been guilty of turning the engine off after a country run at speed with no problems yet. TURBO TIMERS ARE ILLEGAL !
