Good luck Pat, I hope the rain holds up, it's a nice cool overcast day perfect for the run.

May the force be with you....

thanks for all the advice guys, especially MUZ580, Ernie, JP 300 and F6 UTE, experience is priceless :spoton: As said, I'm just gonna go out there, have fun and see what we can get, I was gonna get come MT streets, but I thought I'd find the limit of my street tyres first and then go for some sort of semi slick, I never planned on going heavily into drag, I have a feeling it will become another addiction like power mods and tattoos!

all good mate :kissmy:

it does take a bit of time to get a good feel for the track and nerves are a huge thing if you have never raced before. I still get butterflies every time I get in my racecar.

all I can say if have a good time and try your best..... I can garrenntee you will get the drag racing bug and go back to better your times.

these are a couple of pics of my drag car at WSID and also at Willowbank in Queensland..... im hoping to add my Ute to the racing ranks as well but slowly as one headache is enough

Ernie looks like an animal mate...

Good to have you in the club.

The biggest hurdle is the weight of the falcs... the rotors are alot lighter and produce big power cheaply.

The Falcs are great for a daily driven weapon, just ask the boys around here.

ahhh cheers Ozzie

the Rx7 will be better this time round as is a half chassis now with 15 x 14 x 33 inch hoosier slicks on 15 x 14 inch almastar bead locked rims. it has changed quite a bit since those pictures....... it used to be a extended mild port with 2 speed glide and a 7000 converter with 100 hp Nitrous but now is a Methanol peripheral port 13B with a Turbonectics T-106 2400 hp turbo and 2 stage 250 hp Nitrous and a liberty equalizer clutchless 5 speed. like I said one headace at this moment in time is enough.

the reason I bought the ute was towing and im also a courier with the Xr6. I used to own a BA XT and that just didnt cut the mustard with all my crap I need to race and towing the Rx around as well......... now its so much better..... I load the ute up and the trailer and its just like im driving a limo.

I thought I needed a bit of an upgrade and will have a APS phase 2 kit in about a week or so's time and looking forward to the new power as a mate took me for a drive in his XR6 and it flew......... I thought mine was fast but he left me in the weeds

cant wait for the cruise in january and cheers for the welcome too :crybaby:

the rego plate on my ute is EZE-09Z if your on that cruise......please feel free to say hi !

Ernie - what was the best time under your old setup, and what are you aiming for with the new kit?

hey Loop,

mate I have to say it was a drama just to get a good pass down. I went thru 3 converters and 4 diff ratios just to pull a 9.91 @ 139 mph. the mph would suggest a low 9 sec pass but it wouldnt get out of the hole fast enough. after 100 feet it was like a rocket but when you dont pull good 60 foot times you might as well abort the run.

it was giving me the sh*ts mate and I got jack of the auto and pulled the whole car apart and started from scratch again. all the chassis and diff work is complete......... I just have to put the new engine together and put it all in. the old setup was about 1150 kg and now its a tad above 920kg....... ive stripped it hardcore and put fiberglass pinned doors, guards, bonnet and changed to lexan glass for the front and rear screens. the car has also chabed colour to gloss black and will be airbrushed down both sides and the bonnet.......... should look good when its complete !

the new setup if I dont climb the wall should pull mid to low 7 sec quarter times.

lol glad you liked that Senna :levitate:

this was my old setup:

the turbo is a hybrid GT42/45RS 1400 hp.......... its basicly a 1000 hp turbo with a cropped GT45 rear wheel flowed to 1400 hp @ 60 psi boost.

the 9.9 run was only done with 20 psi boost............ never had a chance of bumping it up as it wasnt worth the trouble of cooking converters.
