Half and half here. Love the auto for city driving, but as soon as I get out onto the open road (think Tassie Targa roads :D ) its sequential mode all the way. The degree of control it gives you is far better than letting the auto decide when to change. I actually thought it would be a bit of a gimmick before trying it out, but now I couldn’t live without it.

WHAT CITY DRIVING DO YOU HAVE DOWN THERE-HE HE

Hey I'll have you know it takes me a good five minutes to get through the city!

I'm happy to put up with a small city in return for oodles of ultra smooth twisty roads and long straights with not a car (or cop) in sight :D

si -you have it all -really enjoyed the run from hobart to queenstown-great long straights to start with and the twisties  at the end in the wet with the traction control off-what a hoot-don't worry I'm envious of you :ermm:

I use the SSS Manual mode most of the time, I love the fact you don't have to pump your left foot everytime you want to change gears... that's so old hat!

Sophisticated Performance, just can't get enough

For me, there's a point in the technology curve where you start to lose touch with what's important.

The auto vs manual debate highlights this ... I'm sure the SSS is a technically superior way to drive what is a very technically advanced car, however, I just like the feel of controlling the driving experience. Feeling the clutch engage and disengage throughout the gear change, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for technology, especially if it can make my life experience safer, more comfortable, better, etc., when it comes to driving, however, I just want to rip that gear stick back into 2nd and rocket out of that corner with my head pinned back into the headrest.

Me too!

I did that in the dealers' XR6T SSS :)

(I think he ended up in the boot...)
