To properly answer these questions we would need to know the regulations of the class.

wouldnt it also be better to use a BF xr6T motor rather then a BA as these are essentially the same as the typhoon motor are they not?

There are race car drivers & then there are true professionals. Luckily I have probably the best driver available in Qld currently racing for me.

thanks

Russ

Agreed, the only things different between the BF XR6T and the BF Phoons as I have been made aware of are: bigger Intercooler in the Phoon, extra CAI in the Phoon and a different tune (to run higher PSI etc in the Phoon). Apart from that they are essentially the same car in the BF series.

Oh and aside from the bodykit and other internal "eye candy" differences

Although I would assume you are just going to use one of your currently owned vehicles rather than splash out on a new BF?

There is a bit of a discussion about this on AFF though you need to scroll to the bottom before the answer to the question is discussed in detail: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.ph...es+typhoon+xr6t

In fact a new discussion just started about this topic on AFF right here:

Not sure if it was by someone in here to gather more info?

Cheers

LOL @ Barryblue & MB Junior

I have to basically build to F6 Spec inc diff, gearbox ratios but I can use aftermarket rods & pistons.

Do the BA's & BF's all use the same spec turbo???

The regs etc. are below

Hey Russ,

Just checked with my mate who was a Ford Mechanic for many years; he said the turbo itself is exactly the same. The main differences are in the ECU as there are a few extra sensors etc (such as checking for overboost, when the boost comes in etc). These changes are also mainly due to the different transmissions (and being that with the ZF, the car is 30 kg heavier so there were some other calibrations necessary to account for this)

Getting back to your question about the turbo itself, as an example, you could quite easily drop a BF turbo into a BA without anymore changes necessary.

He mentioned that most of these racing categories are ECU controlled anyway

Hope this helps,

T
