The R8 is slower, uglier and costs more. They are $200,000+ supercar.

Zap,

So you've ordered a car unsure of the specs and has an eta of 2009??? Riight.

So anyway, IMO it's hideous like a 350z. At the end of it all it's still Jap crap.

Put your money towards an AMG instead.

Rob,

Knowing that Nissan have been perfecting this car for over 5 years assures me it will be a real drivers car.

I know most of the specs, but if I am not happy, I can cancel the contract. If I waited until 2009 when the car is released, I would have another 2 years minimum to wait, as the orders are already blowing out into 2010, 18 months before it is released.

As for Jap crap, the Japs are the largest car makers in the world, andknow how to design and build cars. As for the AMG, I had a very close look at the motorshow last week. A C63 AMG would be my 2nd choice.

I think the GTR looks great, and will look awsome in black or dark grey with the black alloy wheels.

P.S Mods do not have tits, we prefer Man Cans

Ok. I just see any new release of a Japanese car all hype, then 3 or 4 years later see them on the street blowing blue smoke and looking rickety. I'm not saying Ford are any better, cause they certainly are not. I was always a fan of the older 300zx, but am disappointed in the styling of the 350z and now the new Skyline. Good luck with your choice, the wait will be a killer.

BTW - Did they say there was a waiting list for C63's?

The guy at the Merc stand said I would have little chance of getting one next year. Apparently we have had our allocation reduced due to popularity in Europe.

Well done Zap they are one hell of a car

Speeking to a nissan guy at the motor show and he told me there will be 2 spec gtr's in aust, $80k and $120k plus on road costs

$5k deposit puts your name on the list, u can pull out and be refunded if the car doesnt meet your requirements

All you meatheads dismissing the GTR as Jap crap should take a good hard look around.

If you really think Falcons and Commodores are even in the ball park, let alone the same league you really are kidding yourselves. It has been the catch cry of the neandethol for years, if it's quicker than a big heavy sedan, then it's either put down as "Jap Crap" or "Hi-tech Junk". A typical tall poppie case of if you can't beat it, bag it.

The GTR is the holy grail of intelligent performance cars. Falcon and Late model camira can only dream of matching the build quality of Japanese cars. :roflmbo:

Praise where praise is due, a stock 12sec V6 for less than $150k is fantastic. Add in the GTR's bulletproof reputation of being able to handle 1000+ hp mods and all you guys that are concerned over the car's looks will only have to look at the back of it.
