Hi everyone,

thought I'd throw a post up to say gday and well.. I'm new?

I'm currently looking at buying a T, and have read multitudes of posts in here, so I'm not gunna ask any stupid questions, just gunna hit that search button and use it as best I can..

Anyhooo, I'm looking at buying pretty soon, and am in Brissy. I've had a browse on carsales and the rest of them, and there's one in Croydon in VIC that looks interesting. Thing is, from reading posts on here it's been recommended you get someone in the know to check it out, not just RACV or a regular mechanic, being a performance car and all. Was wondering if when I get a bit more interested, somebody might be able to help out? You all seem to be a big community, and that's awesome to see.

Also, what's the go with posting up links to cars on those sites, is it a big deal? Or just throw em up and get a verdict from people? Don't wanna be pushing the wrong buttons too early...

But yeah, I've always loved utes, but I'm thinking the sedan is a bit more practical, and while the utes hold their value more... I figure I can spend the smaller dollars on the car, and put some money into the engine. I've had a chat to Elite and also from reading the posts on here, I'm pretty keen to put some more power through those wheels.

Well, that's me, and I'm looking forward to getting into it as soon as possible!

Cheers :buttrock:

Get ready for the mod bug to hit and send you broke :spoton:

Hahahaha, yeah, already seen that one coming. Body is in the braced position waiting for impact...

Just an opinion poll, but do you reckon you're better off buying something with mods already done, or spend a bit less, get something stocko, and mod away.

One thing I am a bit errrrh on, is buying something with 20s or 19s. While they look awesome, and I'd love to throw them on for cruising, I can't really justify the cost of replacing them, I think.. What does a new set of rubber on those bad boys cost?

And what do a set of stock rims set you back on the black market?

19" rubber is getting cheaper and cheaper as more and more manufacturers are fitting 19's as standard.

As far as modding goes, start with a fresh canvas, no mods and do it your own way, then you can experience every upgrade the way you want it, the previous owner might have wanted something different
