Dont know about being backlit, but they are all different to the touch.

Ford have set most controls up with a braille type of thing, so with a little practise you can operate most things by feel instead of taking your eyes off the road (or speedo these days).

Have a look and you will notice the bumps etc that I am talking about. Takes a couple of days, then you dont even think about it.

Hi Guys

I' m in the dark - literally, when it comes to the backlighting for the controls on the steering wheel.

Should they be backlit at night?

Without this feature, navigating around the sterro and cruise control is bit tricky at night!

Cheers

Should they be? Absobloodylutely they should, but thanks to someone (the bean counters at Ford?), they are not! A very fine vehicle overall, but no illumination of window switches or controls on steering wheel was a booboo methinks

As Trumpy says however, you do kind of get used to feeling around in the dark after a while.

You mean like "why don't you just stick a toupe over the wheel?"

PS Trumpy is right, Ford actually designed them that way so you wouldn't need light - pity they didn't pay as much attention to the design placement of the switches hidden behind the steering wheel.

You mean that playing with your knobs in the dark makes you go blind?!!!!!!!!!

I notice that before I had the window switch attended to on the driver's side arm rest, the widow switches were not illuminated. Now they are!

I still reckon the guys at Blue Oval should have thrown a bit of light on this topic for us all.

Steering wheel control are normally not lit.

I find them easy to operate from memory. There are three on each side and the middle one has a recess.

Find teh recess and you know where your buttons are.
