the whole burn-in scenario for plasmas is a load of crap. I have a Pioneer 50" Plasma which I have had for 3 years, I bought it back when it was $10000. it is only 760p but you can't tell. I played my playstation on it nearly every day for 2 years and I don't have any burn-in on the screen what so ever. I don't play games on it anymore as I have a top of the line sony bravia 40" x series LCD which I bought for my PS3. Don't be put off by plasmas in the shops as in bright light a LCD will look better as they are back lit, but put a plasma in a dark room and they look brilliant. My plasma is a much better screen than the LCD. I would have bought a Plasma for the PS3 but I will only buy a Pioneer Plasma as they are the best and I can't justify paying $12000 again for the new 1080p Pioneer plasma.

Yeah, in Sydney.

JB Hi-Fi had them, and a mob called Clive Anthony.

I'm gonna get one as a 3rd TV.

I just went out to buy a Soniq, but they don't have an audio out, so are useless if you want to hook them up to surround sound. I ended up getting an LG 42" with a built in HD tuner for $1,400 instead.

I'm in the hunt for a 50inch plasma too.. not sure if I want a full 1080p model yet.. so far, the best price I got for a panasonic PZ700 was $3900, but that was a few weeks back, and it's only going to get cheaper. I'm currently looking at the new pioneer kuro models, the XDA isn't 1080p, but damn its picture quality is awesome! and it downscales the 1080p very very well! the LX model is 1080p but retails for around 7-8k  the XDA model is going for around $4700 if you shop around!

There's a few good options out there, one being the hitachi 50 inch 1080i full HD. It's selling for around $3400

On the other hand, a top of the line panasonic can be had for around $2500 but it won't be full HD.. I don't even know if I want full HD yet! so this might be the option for me at this stage, I dunno!

I still don't know what I want yet :tonguepoke:

To every one in Melb looking to buy a Tv, definetly send AzZaMaTaZ a message with what you are looking for as he has given me a great price.

He works in the Brighton Retravision now.
