that's tempting tab, let me tell you! But every now and again you get a customer who is willing to listen to you about the car, take a proper test drive, have their car valued and listen to what the car is at full retail, and then negotiate a reasonable price that they are happy with, these customers are the ones that make you happy about your job, and not have to chase idiots with stupid deals and no money!

From what I've read of you're 'knowledge', I wouldn't be listening to you either... :blink:

True, but idiots can be found on both sides of the fence.

When shopping for the phoon, the first place that I thought I'd built up a good relationship with, ended up offering me a whopping $74k on an F6 with the options that I wanted. I'd been there several times, poured over the cars, had a couple good chats. Now, either they took me for an idiot, or thought that because of the uniform I was wearing, that I had some spare coin to throw around. Well, after being offered full bloody retail, I took their free umbrella, and f*cked right off. Unfortunately for them, I had done some serious homework, and already knew that what was offered was full retail, and didnt appreciate the BS that went with it. I was told such crap as "oh, you better hurry, cos we've only got six slots left this month". Slots? Really? How about I order a car when the f*ck I want, and you put the order in to FPV regardless, and they get around to the build when the f*ck they can. Given the full retail offer, I wasnt to be f*cking losing anything. God, 2yrs later, and that experience still f*cks me right off.

I'm not having a go at anyone here btw, just venting.

Anyhoo, I ended up going to visit another mob for the first time that day, who had already undercut retail by $9,000, via email! There was little bullsh*t, and they didnt take long to come up with numbers that I was very happy with. Nice blokes, and didnt attempt to feed me any bullsh*t. They stuck to the facts, and obviously HAD taken an interest in the product PRIOR to my arrival.

At the end of the day, by the time I walk into a dealership, I already know what I want, and am just looking for numbers that enable me to sign on the line. Whether that makes me an easy or difficult customer depends on how much attempted BS feeding there is.

Whats this supposed to mean? name one post where I have led anyone astray, I don't put sh*t on anyone, so whats your problem?

Savage, I agree with you about idiots on either side of the fence! ome sales ppl amaze me, how they sell cars is beyond me, most of us in the industry are well aware that no one pays full retail anymore, its the approach you take that makes the difference
