Still the problem onlay happened afetr some time and thousand of K's so I dont know. Stuffed if I do know really.Would love to hear from DBA and EBC omn this one, funny thing is they are mates, but both have to pull respective party lines. Best of luck with your new pads mate, hope it fixes all your problems. I bow out.Scotty

The brsaking was fantastic, a massive improvement. This lasted for abot 10 000 km, then resin leak, resin baked on and an aweful shudder started. Afetr some complaints and investigation, I was not the only one, I can almost garantee this is what happened to EXR6T, not that the pads did not get hot enough.I love both products and would not hesitate to use either again, but would take a lot of convincing that they can work together relaibly for a prolonged period of time. I know you have commented on this before Hiddeous, so I can assume this is not a new setup and has been relaible for some time. Which leads me to the conclusions, that in some fundemenatl way the DBA 4000 rotors are vastly better than the stock DBA rotors.ScottyFundamentally the diffrence will manifest as their ability to dissipate heat which is the heart of good braking.Try either Ferodo DS2000 or for more spirited driving DS2500 - Ultimates are good all round pad with nice cold bite but will start to suffer under REALLY harsh activity. If you want effective braking action then you will get brake dust - what do you want aestheics or safe driving?Dingah
turbotrana Member 2,586 Member For: 21y 10m 27d Gender: Male Posted 12/10/07 02:27 PM Share Posted 12/10/07 02:27 PM Regarding the differences between the DBA standard rotor and DBA 4000 series. Things may look the same on the outside but I think the 4000 have better metalergy and heat treatment that makes it a much better disc. that's probably why its over 2.5 times the price of a stock disc. The pads that chew into the disc are probably good at keeping the disc more true. This is what I notice

I cant fault the EBC green stuff pads or my rotors. Stops my car alot better and quicker then over stock pads and rotors
Guest newl Guests Posted 26/03/08 08:22 AM Share Posted 26/03/08 08:22 AM Thread mining a tad here but makes sense to stick to the topic instead of starting a new one.My rotors and pads on my F6 are pretty much cactus after almost 65k km and I'm getting DBA 42104SL/SR rotors to replace the factory premiums (the eliptical slotted blue caliper ones). Now, I'm not quite sure what pads to go with and am looking for suggestions. I'm fairly hard on my brakes and only intend on street usage.
