And if it IS something internal well then I guess I'm screwed and my car is up for sale. *sigh*

Or I'll swap for an exhuast with an .. xr8

I'm just tired of my car always being off the road etc

SLAP!!! :stupid:

Get over it and how hard is it to fix? Besides you wont drive a slow fat ass XR8 and be blown off by SS crapadores!!

How much you asking for it as I have a few spare rods hahahahhaha

What fuel was in it when it went pop...? What fuel do you normally run? How have they diagnosed that it not a loose flew plate?

BF engines make big power but they are on the limit (imho) and if you get a bad batch of fuel or have your stereo on loud when you plant it and dont hear that dreaded ping, it can all end pretty quickly.

I hope its only a flex plate issue mate

Aaron, I am sorry to hear about this, but don't sell the car. Its the price you pay for performance really, trust me I have sold previous cars in the past because of something happening ect and I wounded up losing money on the car only to find myself modifying another car because once you had it, you want it again.

very sad news. I would be 100% sure that it is engine related before even considering selling it.

best of luck with it and let us know if you need a hand at all!

is it cos its not covered by warranty and it will cost too much to get it fixed?

Not once it's modded! :stupid:

Sorry to hear mate, but if you could afford a BF MkII in the first place, then afford to have it massaged to the tune of 330rwkw, I reckon you can afford an engine rebuild. You'll regret selling it and, once the internals have been done, you'll be able to make your power with absolute peace of mind. :w00t2:

It's getting towed this morning to Titan in Melville because I'm sick of challenger ford f*cking me around, I've bought all my cars from them and it's taken them 3 days to look at my car then tell me 'oh the noise is coming from the engine'

Idles fine, there was no lights on the dash that came on, there was no loss in power, just a weird rattling noise.

If The boys at Titans tell me it's not the flex plate either then I'm gonna have to get it towed to Simon's and see whats the go from there. whether its a re-build or not, I'll just have to get the money together and get him to make sure this doesn't happen again, might as well do the wastegate/acuator while the car is there.

I just feel drained at the moment, my car is everything to me and to have it off the road is such a piss off cuase I don't have any other form of transportation.

I'll keep you all posted.

Where is it? Hell I can tell from 100ft away if its flex plate.. Also if you bump the idle up to 900~100rpm it will go away but at idle it sounds like a piton is about to jump out the side of the block!! Scary noice when you hear it for the first time.

Just hang in there mate and when everything is sorted you will be glad you kept your car. Dont look at it like if your car is stuffed look at it like you are doing some more mods to it. I always try and put a positive spin on things when something goes wrong with my car. It might not even be your engine. Do you always put 98 RON fuel in it?
