I bought a 2$ silver spray from supercheap auto and sprayed it straight on my stock cooler no worries at all.

I just spreayed flat black over whatever the stock F6 cooler is coated with. It has just started to flake off after 20 months. Got the can and touched it up through the grill.

Did the job just fine.

You could get it sand blasted and do the job properly, but I would just make sure there are no bugs or dirt and spray away.

Just give it a good sand to flatten the paint and then give it a clean with wax and grease remover.

Go easy with the paint only use enough to do the job.
