You wont be disapointed with the XR.

Fantastic in the tight stuff and very tractible power.

Nowhere near as fatigueing as my 426.

You will find that you can ride it for longer and faster!

Cheers Paul

There only harder to ride when you twist the throttle to far.The ergonomics of the WR far outclass the XR,so I dont see how it can be far more fatigueing.Handles better, heaps lighter and real suspension. The XR will suit him fine but it wont be long before he longs for a bike with better ergo,s.

the XR 400s are a good bike, I loved my XR 250 before I sold in to buy a WR 450.

you'll have plenty of fun with the XR, they are indestructable.

my XR 250 had done 17 000 kms without touching the motor, and it still run perfect :tonguepoke:

you know where you can stick that 2 stroke crap !!! hehe

No worries mate. No shame in not being able to handle a 2 strokes power!!! To each their own.

Once you get that WR450, have fun spending every second weekend pulling the dam thing apart to do valve clearances and replace valves, timing chains, etc.

In the mean time I'll be out riding!!

Nice bike but not enough grunt and they suck on the road cause they hate being at one constent speed. The only differance to the 4 banger is the head and when you know what your doing there easy to work on.I still hold my faith in the yamaha engine as there heads seem to outlast any other.

I have a road bike for that mate. Its a Yamaha too and what you say about the heads runs true for it as well. I only have to do valve clearances every 40,000klm. The longest interval of any bike that I know of.

WRs and XRs aren't exactly at home on the road either BTW. Good for going to the shop for milk and a paper but that's about as far as I would want to go on one.

As for grunt, the old 2 strokes deliver their power much differently to a 4 banger but they are anything but gutless once you get them running properly rather than how they leave the shops to pass the emmisions laws.

I dare say that a 4 stroke would leave you for dead on the first decent hill or decent bit of mud. I dont care what 2 stroker you have.

watch the vid :)

My WR made 52rwhp with zorst,Jet kit and air box mod.Not saying all 2 stroke are gutless but new 4 stokes deliver the power so easy and precise.I did ride a 70+rwhp CR 500 and that thing was evil.Plenty of power but hard to use around a motoX track.

As for a Wr 450 not being at home on the road, well you should bring your rode bike to Beechmont and see what the out come is to a Motard prep WR.You would be flat keeping near it.LOL
