Hey I'm looking to put a 12inch sub in the boot running off a aftermarket amp and im wondering if theres a better way to get a signal rather then hi-low converters? I've been told to leave the stock amp connected otherwise the icc wont work properly and just to tap into the pre amp signal for the factory amp and run that to the aftermarket amp. Has anyone done this and know for sure that it works? and also what wires do I tap into? looking at the wiring dagram theres IN+, IN-, DIAG, and ACC, im assuming that I tap into IN+ and IN- but if anyone can clarify that is would be awesome.

There is a low level input on the standard amp's multi pin connector. From memory the + is yellow and the - is, um, a "outer coax" looking one, you'll see what I mean when you find it.

I cut these off the plug (leave the plug plugged into the amp so the xover works) and soldered an RCA plug onto them... and that's your sub out.

I run a Pioneer mono block with 2 JL 12s off it, and Cadence splits all round off the factory amp... sounds very nice

nice work Rapid .. thanks dude.

I went to strathfield today and bought the JBL 8" sub and a pair of JBL 5 x 7's for the rear parcel shelf .. along with a converter and run it off my soundstream 4ch amp.

I would have went the 12" sub option but I need all the boot space as I can get.

also I finally got my cage out too .. the air blade was the way to go .. my panel beater mate did it for $300.

Cheers dude !!
