Well the old girls pushing 100k and I 've just noticed that the Turbo has started to get a bit noisy (grinding bearings sound)

Looking for some feedback on the following:

- Is total destruction iminent

- Will it be safe to drive for a while, if I take it easy

- Am I looking at a total rebuild of the turbo

- Who in WA (other than Ford) can I speak to

- What sort of $$ am I looking at.

Anyl offerings would be appreciated :spoton:

well, grinding sounds are never good when it comes to turbos, if you pull the intake pipe off the front of the turbo, have a look at the blades and codition of the housing if you can see anything, sorry, but as far as ppl in WA I'm not sure, but I'm sure there's plenty of ppl on here who can recommend someone

if you have a decent tool set and some patience you can do it, just remember that oil and coolant will come out everywhere, and you have to remember where everything went, also you will need new copper washers for the oil delivery line, this might help you:

Ok hard hard is it for a weekend mechanic to get the sucker off and back on again, going by Turbo Techs quote of $450 to do it I'm guessing not easy.

MTQ Dynamic turbo are also pretty good Steve.
