I think it's more of a novelty thing more than anything (and all the Expensive Daewoo guys seem to think it adds more power

I was once one of them... How I dont miss those days..

Hi Everyone. I'm knew to this so bare with me. I have a 2005 XR6 Turbo, 6 Speed Manual. I have a vibration coming through the cabin from the box which sounds like the bearings are stuffed. I've been told it may be the input shaft bearing by someone who races in the Carrera Cup (so he is a pro) but when FORD reps took a look at it twice they said this is the normal sound of the box...it is just a noisy box. It just comes through the cabin. It's pretty bad and once your ear tunes into it it pisses me off everytime I drive it. Does anyone else have the same problem??

I'd appreciate some advice.

its called roll-over noise, get used to it, if you notice the sound gets quieter when you put the clutch in... unfortunately ford use cheap bearings, but don't worry, the box is very strong and won't break unless you put extreme power through it, keep the gerabox oil changed regularly and it should keep it to a minimum :spoton:

So what's the deal with the fluffy red handcuffs hanging from the mirror?

Nice car mate & welcome to the club, you won't regret it.

lol yeah the handcuffs were just there to make people laugh but I was looking out for blues one to match the car.

thanks for the comp and I haven't regret it so far everyone has been great and alot of help so far, I can't wait until I go on a car cruise with everyone and meet new people

Does anyone know why some manual turbo sedans have a driveline shunt in them and some don't? Mine's a 6 speed Man BA/MKII and has the shunt. My mates hasn't got it and it's the 6 speed too. What causes the shunt? Is there any fix? I'm sorry if I'm not as technically minded as most people here.

could have something to do with your diff bush hae you had it checked?

Yeah, again FORD claims this is normal. I never know what to believe with these people. You guys are better than they are cause you have "unbiased" comments. Looking all over the internet suggest the driveline shunt is apparent is many of the T's. Just wondering if there's a fix?

there's not too much you can do, some are worse than others, you eventually learn to drive around it, just keep an eye on the diff bush as this will ad to the problem if its getting worn or cracked
