That thing looks bloody hideous :nono:

Mr Bean - impressive yet again. You should really run your tyres at the same pressure though! :thumbsup:

I agree it looks awefull, but it's still a decent example of a custom make fascia to move the factory screen lower to put an LCD up top.

1 of my mates did that exact setup (well without the hideous colours :buttonit:)

worked well. He was very nervous about lengthening the wiring for the back of the LCD though. Don't try it if your not good with soldering!

@MrBean: Excellent as always :banghead:

How did he go with customising the facsia? - Is there a place that would make one up nice and spiffy for me ..

The electronics part I have no issues with .. getting a factory finished look is where I wouldn't be 100%.

Very nice Bean. :spoton:

Could you integrate one of the sensors into live boost/intake temp monitoring system, or will the Scantool be doing that for you??

Lol @ Tab: I had to "activate" the sensors somehow, so let some pressure out of each of the tyres in turn - guess my feel-o-meter wasn't working to great :)

So your end product should look like this? .. without the vents? ..

Mmm...I remember seeing that UTE's interior in a magazine sometime last year, it is a job well done - although I don't like the color, but it did go well with the lime-green exterior - even the UTE's tray was done in leather, was it by ProStitch I think....

Mine would look similar, imagine a color TFT at the bottom though, and then larger 10.4" where this has a Alpine 6.5".....

Soz for the late reply anyway, I only got in 23h00 last night, and are still recovering....will post again tomorrow, off to bed to get rid of jetlag...

11) Afterthought - I want to add a GSM modem/phone setup, which will be housed in the same carputer enclosure, so if I dial the simcard number, it will start relaying GPS NMEA strings - in other words, positional data, from the GPS, via sms messages, to my cellphone - or something similar - will need to think about this one a little.

This will be excellent, I cant wait to see how it turns out, and how you do it.
