Has anyone just replaced the factory 8" sub and amp for better ones no cutting or anything just disconected factory and slotted in new ones. I did the whole stereo in my old car and I dont really wanna do it again so I am thinking just something with a little more punch that will fit in factory spots??? Anyone done it and any suggestions on sub or amp cheers

Anybody out there know if its possible to stop the ICC screen dimming when the headlights are on? I drive with my headlights on all the time and it makes it nigh on impossible to read the screen during the day......

thanks man, I too also have this issue where the stereo just sounds a bit average for 'premium sound' I have it set to ROCK and have to lower the BASS levels. I'm keen to replace the sub... I might just take it to a stereo place and get their input as to me, it sounds lamo sound.. I go to crank it and the sub rattles. :-(

check to make sure u havent torn the rubber seal around the cone .. pull off the undertray from the boot by removing hte 3 white plastic clips around the boot light , and have a look up there give it a shake , may also be just a loose bolt or child restraint mount

Im also interested if anyone knows how to do this, but around the other way lol. I prefer the night style darker light on the colour screen and I'de like the screen to stay dark with the headlights off. No troubles reading it during the day and I think it looks better. Most of the time it's just saying "AUX" anyway due to iPod usage.

There is normally a trigger wire hanging out the back end of a ICC/HU.

1. Remove the ICC

or

Locate the wire in question (if it exists in these things... I would guess it does).

2. Pull bonnet release switch located beside the foot well on the drivers side.

3. disconnect the battery.

4. remove the icc (if required, or take a pit stop and get a can of beer, coke, or glass of vodka whatever you prefer).

5. with a sharp cutting (plier style) tool - CUT THE BASTARD!

6. tape up the ends, just in case of shorting out.

7. put everything back together and off you go!

This may work - if it was just a head unit type deck this is all that you need to do. I can only assume the ICC has a like wire somewhere - just need to find the bastard...

Mate, under the ICC just to the right of the power 12v plug...

also in the fuse box on the right hand side of the steering wheel - there is a AUX for a mobiel car kit!

good luck!
