They are designed to seal with the door trim. The cutout is not round like a normal speaker, which will require a baffle to be made. Results will be average if you don't seal with the trim due to the number and size of the service holes in the mounting baffle.This last pic will give you an idea on how much work is required to seal up towards the trim. This isn't perfect btw, and was me just experimenting.
