Good idea until your air-con goes crazy...it bases fan speed and conditioning based on the sunlight sensor and outside temperature.

if you use a 3 or 4 position switch with position 1 being standard you could select p1 and use the aircon, and only use the other ones when testing the air temp.

you dont really use the aircon when driving hard do you.

that's good to know tab so thanks. Though I think that when I need to know under bonnet or airbox temps, Id be thinking about going wot and not comfort. You have, however, given me a good idea about how to boost the cooling down of the interior when I need to (bloody black cars in summer) :stupid:

im into electronics max, it may be the case that if you put a variable resistance attenuator inline with the sensor you can adjust the signal from the sensor to the icc and make the ac system think its 50 degrees outside.
