A CAPA Edit flash tuner alone should see you into the 250rwkw range.

Typical problems are the hand brake woosh woosh, power steering clunk, drive line shunt (if a manual is your thing) just to name a few. A quick search of the forum may turn up some others.

Hey Grommz,

Welcome to the light side (or is it dark to you...?). With that sort of money, you will have a couple of options. Either an ealier model BA Series I/II that has had work done to it, but will have a few k's on it, or a newer model with lower k's but standard.

Personally I spent 30k on a series I BA about 12 months ago with 320+ rwkw that ran in the 11's and couldnt be hapier.

Mods wise the rest of the boys will be able to help you out but with exhaust+edit, you should be able to hit that pretty easily.

Enjoy!

Hey James,

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your purchase; the car is an excellent choice! A custom tune should be all you need to achieve that figure (most of the people on here will also recommend getting a BMC/K&N Filter & Typhoon Intake) however you will see some of the people on here like to chase the 300rwkw figure so I thought I would put that down too as this may become a goal one day. As I understand it, there are a only a few things that you need to reach 300rwkw (as explained to me on AFF):

"Option 1:

Custom Edit

K&N or BMC Filter

Bosch 968 injectors (440cc)

Upgrade Dump and/or Cat

(pricing approx $2500-$3000)

Option 2: (Better Long term option)

Custom Edit

K&N or BMC Filter

Seimen Deka injectors (630cc)

Upgrade exhaust

(pricing approx $3500-$4000)

Option 2 is the way to go long term as it will save you money when your chasing more power and the car will make power easier.

Whilst doing all this I would recommend upgrading the cooler with one that slots striaght in and there's plenty of options including process west, plazmaman or others that your tuner advises and also a fuel upgrade with bosch 044 pump to keep up with the fuel supply.

Upgrade the tyres when your ready with a tyre that has better tread rating eg; kumho's or michellins."

Anyway you may not want that much info but it may come in handy one day :)

For 25k you should be able to get a nice BA MkII with decent kms. If you want to go fast down the strip then get an auto. If you want a manual then get the MkII as this will get you a 6 speed manual.

I thought the safest way to get into the mid to high 200rwkw mark would be to do the following.

2nd air intake (F6)

High flow panel air filter (K&N or BMC)

Valve springs

Bosch 968 injectors (440cc)

Custome tuned Edit

or you can just do a filter and custom tune and take it the limit of your injectors and valve springs.

Dont bother with a aftermarket panel filters, they are a waste of money, spend the 100+ bucks on a Under battery pipe. You will get more flow from the UBP than the piddley 2 or 3kw gain from a filter

:stupid:

Grommz, these are a few things I've found that are wrong with these cars...

- the guy @ the tyre shop now knows my name,

- I don't get to drink out anymore coz I'm driving,

- girlfriend doesn't love me anymore,

- BP girl does!

and this is all on a stock car, can't imagine what the others on here have to go through

all jokes aside, welcome and enjoy. you'll love it even with the small problems you may have
