Goodaye,

I have an Aug 03 manual (5Speed) XR6T, not modded and driven by my wife 95%, has about 56,000kms.

The gears have always been difficult to shift but getting more difficult lately, now impossible to get reverse gear, just wont go in at all, cannot move car, other gears are OK.

Any recommendations as to what this may be and suggested fix, I am in Sydney.

Also once this has been fixed what oil should I put in the box? Transmax?

Thanks,

Mark

Same thing happen to me mate, about 3 weeks after I bought it. First 5th gear went, then reverse at this time I thought id bought a lemon but it turned out a bolt came loose in the selector, ease fix took em a day to pull the box out change oil an tighten it all back up.

When my car had the 5 speed in it, many moons ago now. I had a problem with the gear shift, it felt very vague, would crunch in to gear and would be difficult to select gears... it was completely stock at the time and still under warranty, so I took it to Ford and they replaced the shifter block.

After they did that it was good as new... until it came out in lieu of a T56 conversion.
