Specifications of the first BA XR8 recorded on Redbook (early January, couldnt see any in the 02 October release period online?)

http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/vehic...hp?key=FORD03BR

And just to throw in my opinion, all reviews (Wheels Magazine etc) comprising of comparisons of the two models with comparitive drive lines and model (I.e not comparing an 02 with an 06 etc) have shown the XR6T ahead on 0-100 and 1/4 mile time. Not even getting into economy and driveability but as has been mentioned driver choice is subjective and IMO nothing beats the sound of a V8 :)

I have personally beaten a few XR8's and SS stock for stock :)

I raced a XR8 260BOSS when my car was bone stock and it beat me. We both had 4sp autos. Raced a XR8 260 BOSS this week and I beat him by about 9 car lengths. A stock XR6T will not beat an stock XR8 260......

1/4 mile times say differently, aswell as every MOTOR and WHEELS magazines.

well, here goes, without offending everyone on this site can I first say I have been a ford man all my life, have owned some serious 351s and have wanted a xr6turbo since they first came out. well last week the missus finally caved in and I got a 03 citric acid auto and I honestly cant see what all the fuss is about, sure if your out on the open road and overtake its not too bad I spose but in standard form I dont reckon there that crash hot. so wher do I go from here, flashtuned, injectors, bigger intercooler, or do I go back to my roots and get an xr8. like I said im not here to piss anyone off im sure with a bit of work I could get it hopping but I just expected more, especially for the fuel it drinks (guzzles)

Lube the boost solenoid, put some 98 octane fuel in it, grab yourself a K&N Filter and a Typhoon snorkel, then get a custom tune.

If you're not seriously impressed after that I'll be very surprised.

waytooslow....believe me u will be more disappointed if u bought an XR8 they make lots of noise and go nowhere in a hurry! XR6ts dont need much work to get them going spend 3-4k and 300+rwkw is easily achievable getting u low 12s to high 11s.
