It's only 8 months old and looks terrible. It makes it worse that under the Ego paint it's white. I'm going to grab some touch up from the dealer tomorrow. What do you guys do? Paranormal Member 469 Member For: 21y 4m 24d Location: Brissy Posted 13/09/07 11:50 AM Share Posted 13/09/07 11:50 AM (edited) heres the deal right...... dont tell anyone.get some bog,nikky what ever u want to call it.mix it up and get a tiny bit on your finger and wipe it in the chip and wipe it over with your thumb removeing all traces of wet nikky of the paint around the chip using your thumb, the oil from your skin will remove all trace leaving bog in the hole.paint over the bog with the touchup paint.Could work out nicely, have only done similar on bigger holes, works well p.s the way I smooth it is just use a tissue with some thinners but wait till the bog starts to go off then give it a quick wipe, when it's not soft and not hard kinda when it's like playdoo smooths it out nicley.But for some small stone chips I'd try filling it with the touch up paint let it set say 10min then touch on top of that with clear till its a bubble then let it harden then hit it with an orbital buffer and cutter then polish etc Same with fine scratches except just use a little clear to fill the scratch no need for colour unless it's deep then, cut the clear down level with the paint. If you can still see it too much then yup try the bog but basically you can wipe off the touchup paint etc and try again but you can't wipe off the bog once it's hardened and you cant sand it else you'd thenl need to spray and blend the area so not saying it's not a good idea, but you have to get it right straight up first time so I do suggest you test things out on an old bonnet etc first see how it comes out, with the tools and materials you have before tring it on your car. What do you guys do?Mine about the same age, and noticed the array of chips. Touched them all up as best as I could the other day, but its never the same. XRBloke Donating Members 1,219 Member For: 21y 6m 21d Posted 14/09/07 03:15 AM Share Posted 14/09/07 03:15 AM Go to Autobarn or a craft supplier and get a super thin brush, im talking super thin with the tip of a pen, the brushes that come with the touch up paint are too big and make it too hard to do a decent job, with a super fine brush you just apply a little at a time till you fill the chip, once your done let it dry, if your supa fussy get a can of clear coat, spray some in the cap and go over the touchup paint with clear (as the touchup paint is only the colour, no shine).
