I hear a whirring sound when I try to squirt my windscreen but no juice comes forth. Surely it cant be blocked??? Suggestions? Where do I look to fix this drama?

Prior to this previous squirts were getting slowly weaker, squirting lower on the windscreen.

First place would be to check that you have flow, disconnect the washer hose at the firewall and get some one too fire the jets. If there is a good flow it may be a blockage at the jets. No flow blocked or dodgy pipes or your pump is on the way out.

I will tell you 100% that your filters are clogged in your reservoir tank. I got ford to do it under warranty originally and worked fine for a few months and was stuffed again, I dropped the reservoir motor out and the filter was covered in a black sludge. Cleaned it all and has been faultless for over 6 months.

:wasklywabbit:

I thought ford would have fixed mine under warranty too but $50 later I was wrong.

Apparently the stuff Ford put in the washer bottles causes some sort of bacteria in the water that clogs up the filter.

Just do it yourself.

Cheers

would I be right in assuming I need jackstands or ramps to get underneath to look at said motor or can it be found easily from above? (yes, I dont spend much time lookin under the hood)

if someone could post a pic that would be great, ill have to check the manual but I bet theres no mention of how to clean filter in question.

Washer Pump

Removal and Installation

1. Remove the left front wheel (Refer to Section204-04).

2. Remove the left front stone guard (Refer toSection 501-08).

3. Remove washer pump

Its that easy really

mine does this every now and again...I just pull the flexy hose that connects to the bonnet, and blow compressed air down it with the lid for the reservoir off.....blow till it bubbles out....

I had this problem 2 days ago. mine was a T-Piece that came undone, under the passanger side plastic cover below your windscreen wipers. All you need is a phillips head screw driver to undo the cover and just lift up the rubber seal and push it back into the T-Piece. Hope it helps

I've had this issue a few times, and after getting all pissed off and worked up about thinking of pulling it apart it usually works the next day without any dramas! The bastard is just teasing me. :stupid:

Are you guys using rain water in your washer bottles? As that's the only time I've ever had any dramas, at least with town water there's that many chemicals in the sh*t no bacteria will grow in it.
