Ive got 360 rwkw (4 speed auto) and holding it at about 1/2 to 3/4 trottle, around the 10psi mark. I crusied upto 260 with no probs. It has more then enough power to pass 300 but the gearing would hold it back. I believe around the 280 mark it would hit 6 grand. I also have big alcons brakes, dropped to the ground and felt stable as.

Just a tip, get off the gas slowly and onto the brakes slowly (never jump off the gas and jump on the brakes, this can make it wonder).

Also dont forget most tyres are not rated for very high speed, try and do this at a race track or if you are stupid like most, a straight road with no one else in sight, no bumps, no wind, and very wide.

please dont put anyone else at risk or even yourself.

Any misstakes at 140 plus it is going to be life and death stuff and anything over 200 ks, good bye.

180 is scary enough.. from what im told

You serious, I've taken my 80's toyotas past that on the track and they felt farily stable at speeds around 190-200 clicks, I'd hope the XR6 would sit flat at those speeds.

The faster you go the more power your going to need, it takes a certain amount of hp per kmh over 2oo and these cars certainly ain't that aerodynamic. I belive that even with 4oorwkw & decent gearing 320 is about as fast as your going to get one going.

Iv'e slammed my brakes on at 24o and tried to pull it up as quick as possible and aside from the crazy shudder they get by about 1ook's it felt rather stable. I suppose at 3ook's the car might get a bit floaty, think of how much air would be passing under the car at those speeds.

Your right, I have to laugh when I see guys spend $5o,ooo+ on a car, $1o,ooo+ in mods then throw a set of $6oo rubber on the car that have an extremly high failure rate due to poor quality materials and manufacturing process's.

Biggest thing at these sort's of speeds is remembering how much ground your covering and how quickly your doing, iv'e had someone pull out on me while sitting on 24o and I tell you it made me sh*t. I slammed the anchors on and prepared to hit them square from behind if it didn't pull up in time, no point trying to swerve at those speeds.

Have wound past the 270 by estimated 10-15 kmh, several times, but like others have said, suspension is the limiting factor... My brakes were OK, but the suspension made the car feel like it was loose and light... Dont think that big fin on the back was doing much either.

There is a thread around here somewhere, the night I ran out of fuel.. Only got about 200km's out of a tank but averaged over 200kmh for the entire 1 hr. When I did get a chance to look at the fuel instant usage meter, it was running up near 99.9 l/100km's (It only goes to 99.9)..

All on private roads outback

Best effort....

Tried to do it again whilst out on the same private road with bigger fuel pump, was a very windy day and my balls shrunk over 270, too much drift in the car..

Said never again without suspension upgrade...
