Davids settings with the Kewish rebuild looks to be the way to go for you ZF boys!! I saw both Mauz's and Jim's F6BF cars run down the quarter and they are both very impressive real street machines!

Had my factory auto up to 10psi on my Autometer boost gauge with Daves tables, getting it stick is another thing we have to work at, I could hear the tyres unload from 300 meters down the track..no flaring just need some good fresh rubber and a well prepared track..

The ice, that was for the scotch I hope...lol..

I do not doubt that people are getting boost off the line, we did see it with Jim's F6BF car but the shifts became to soft and seemed to cause quite a bit of slip. I think that with F6BF's car the auto has already gone past its used by date.

The wierd thing is that Jim applied his own derived technique to get boost off the line to a new Terrytory turbo and it worked well 5 - 6 PSI off the line, no problem.

I will have a chat to Jim and ask him to call David again. Jim did share some things that he found worked with David in return for the info he got so there was an exchange of info.

Yes ...you should not be having any issues achieving boost whilst stalled for launch!

Trans slip with the torque management turned off is a consequence of 900-1000+NM engines in front of 450NM factory rated BA Borg Warner 4 speeds & 650NM factory rated BF ZF 6 speeds! If you want to turn the torque management off within the PCM and go drag racing with slick tyres best visit Kewish first to strengthen and quicken the clutch engagement of either auto trans.

I still think you'll go faster with PCM torque management enabled because full throttle ZF 1-2 upshifts are traction testing enough with the timing pulled out! You'll need a very grippy track surface and slicks to suppress wheelspin with torque management turned off.

Good luck with it all

Cheers

Thanks guys,

Had a great time up in Sydney for the first time had lots of fun chatting with everyone.

I'm surprised the issue with using the ice bag as if it's a sneaky thing to do or something. I use a bag of ice depending on the weather and considering I drove from Melbourne I wanted to make the most of the opportunity. I may have left it too long to line up as I got caught up chatting to the boys but also queing up for racing was stopped just after 9. At calder we race till 11 and stop queing cars close to that time. That caught me off guard. But still it still seems a little early to stop racing especially considering there were alot more cars than calder usually gets.

Now, down to my night. First run I stalled the car expecting to make boost off the line but when it was reaching for 5psi it started diving and I launched on about 2.5psi running a 1.92 60ft I think and 11.04@133mph. There seemed to be a problem with the boost launch so on my 2nd run I launched on about 4psi which netted me a 1.83 60ft and when I hit 2nd gear it blazed the tyres resulting in a 11.05@130mph. My timeslip shows the wheelspin is there looking at the mid track mph. The 1st run with a bit over 101mph and the 2nd run shows a bit over 105mph with 3mph less at the end than the first run. If it gripped there would have been the 10 second pass but it wasn't meant to be.

On the way to the hotel I tested the launch and it wored perfectly which pissed me off to no end. Seemed to be a one off glitch.

Sorry to hear the PCM still didnt allow u to launch with your desired boost ... mines never done that since David has tuned it!

Sometimes I wonder if the OEM PCM has a mind of its own ... be interesting to see what David (blueboost) has to say about that issue.

Is the Kewish ZF still shifting nicely with out any issues? How many kms have you done since the rebuild now?

Cheers

Justin

The box has covered around the 10k mark. Its still going strong and shifts just as crisp as ever. I took a couple of the guys for a spin and they were impressed.
