Good to meet him last night

As for only getting 2 runs that was his own decision to only have 2 runs as it was the tunehouse cars ,they were there before I got there sitting out with bags oif ice on there intakes and constantly water down there motors most cars ther had atleast 6 passes

CYA JEFF :spoton:

What's the big deal about putting a bit of ice and water to try and keep the temperatures down on such a warm day. Mauz's idea to use ice worked for him and helped produce a consistent result.

I was a bit upset that it was going to waste as we did not have any beers to cool down during the same process.

I remeber you saying that if you have something (NOS) that helps make the car run better and faster why would you take it off the car. So a bit of water and ice is surely not as much of a drastic measure.

Dont get your nickers in a knot I was simply stating the reason why he only had 2 passes that's all

Yes my car does have Nos fitted but I didnt realise your car has a ice cooled plenum fitted :tease:

Jeff that's a great idea.

You could have a water to air intercooler and plenum. Insert ice for ultimate cooling.

You'd also need an ice dispensing machine!

You're the one wanting to make the big deal about ice and water. I hear that NOS is the ultimate coolant and also helps a bit with power too.

Yes, I managed to grab the communal bag of ice (it was being shared around) and put it on my plenum. I shut the bonnet and nearly forgot to take it out before the last run.

David (Blueboost) is a nice guy and he has had a chat with Jim @ Tunehouse about helping him setup boost off the line but it did not seem to work on F6BF's car. He could barely get 2psi off the line before the ZF changes started turning to jelly!

Davids settings with the Kewish rebuild looks to be the way to go for you ZF boys!! I saw both Mauz's and Jim's F6BF cars run down the quarter and they are both very impressive real street machines!

I think Jim @ Tunehouse still must not have the PCM settings right because with Davids (Blueboost) tuning I can stall to any boost I wish in my BF Typhoon. The ZF's shifts remain unaltered and if anything a little FIRMER in performance/manual mode. Something is wrong and you certainly dont require a Kewish rebuilt box to make Davids setting work!

I can stall to almost 9-10psi before it overpowers the back brakes and hello wheelspin city!

I've fitted Bridgestone semi slick RE-O1R rear tyres and stalling to 4-5psi makes for awesome launches ... keeps just about anything road registered honest during traffic light drags lol

Maybe Jim should phone David again and source the identical PCM changes to mine for I've had no drama during the last 4 mths with the ZF running behind a Nizpro stage II + pack @ 380rwkw.

Cheers

Correct ... David's left the PCM torque management thus enabled on my ZF trans for trans preservation but you should still be able to stall with any boost you desire for launch and I'm sure he would have informed Jim of such! Having the PCM wind 4-6 degrees timing out during the 1-2 shift is benifical anyway otherwise you just get wheelspin city and dont hook up!

I do not doubt that people are getting boost off the line, we did see it with Jim's F6BF car but the shifts became to soft and seemed to cause quite a bit of slip. I think that with F6BF's car the auto has already gone past its used by date.

The wierd thing is that Jim applied his own derived technique to get boost off the line to a new Terrytory turbo and it worked well 5 - 6 PSI off the line, no problem.

I will have a chat to Jim and ask him to call David again. Jim did share some things that he found worked with David in return for the info he got so there was an exchange of info.
