FSIX Member 566 Member For: 19y 1m 5d Posted 09/01/08 12:43 PM Share Posted 09/01/08 12:43 PM (edited) Update Muaz went to Sydney this week 1st time the car was tuned in Sydney at Autotech 403rwkw on 110 octane, raced at WSID tonight only got 2 runs picked up 11.0 twice with 133mh being the best mph.....they say Calder is bad but 2 runs!...gee that's tuff when your trying out some lunching etc: wheel spin in 2nd gear after doing a 1.83 60 foot on the last run killed a chance of a 10 sec pass at WSID.Car still running a factory engine with a built ZF Kewish auto.CSV_LS1 (Mauz) & Autotech still the only 10 sec F6 and or 6 speed auto.ZF Auto Boosting of the line we all owe a big thank you to blueboost (David) who has shared his work with many tuning shops around Australia, thanks to David a well prepared track and very good fresh rubber is needed for ZF owners..I would nice to see a few others pass on some credit for his work. (and standard engine)... a 10 for Jim is very close, and his gearbox is flaringMauz's new 6-speed box is very good indeed, with very quick shifts. It's a pity you and some of the other guys couldn't join us. It was great seeing Mauz's and Jim's car running together.Brian
FSIX Member 566 Member For: 19y 1m 5d Posted 09/01/08 02:25 PM Share Posted 09/01/08 02:25 PM (edited) Mauz and myself don't view it as competition the competition is the time board and dollars spent Vs the ET. Competition racing guys should be backing there times up on the same night within 3%.... we see many that run a time and never run it again this is why ANDRA have a 3% rule. That good news for jim congrats mate, he done 1.8 60 foot on flaring auto really, with his power I would have thought he would be easily running in the 10's, any way I best leave that for his own thread.Sydney is a long way for 2 runs, maybe in a few months, still I know Muaz is very happy with the 133mph on a 403rwkw tune.. Couldn't have said it better myself. And to think that a certain workshop tried to claim full credited for this... Amazing. Dave is a straight shooter and is happy to pass on any knowledge, none of this secret squirrel rubbish. It's just a shame that not everyone shares the same qualities. Well done to CSV LS1! He could barely get 2psi off the line before the ZF changes started turning to jelly!Davids settings with the Kewish rebuild looks to be the way to go for you ZF boys!! I saw both Mauz's and Jim's F6BF cars run down the quarter and they are both very impressive real street machines! As far as competition is concerned... without it we would all still be running in the 12s bracket. Competition is healthy and also makes things more fun and interesting.Mark, I completely agree with the 3% ANDRA rule but in my case I only got one run in on the day to crack the 10.8 sec pass and then got booted. It makes it difficult to go out there on a different day with different track conditions and replicate the time to within the 3% mark. But ... I still think that this rule should apply for any claimed records.2fardown, As far as sharing information is concerned, how can you expect that a business give away it's trade secrets or IP? It was good that David has helped some of the shops sort out the boost issue but you don't seriously expect that details of a shops tune will be given away for free do you?My guess is half cages are going to become popular accessory in these cars.Congratulations to Mauz, top effort and a great result to all involved. I think that's one of the reasons why Mauz is so consistant; it's not just driving ability and the experience of driving 2 F6's with many passes under his belt, but they try to run the car with its temperature the same each run I.e leave the car for a long time to let it cool down, cooling the plenum with ice to make it as cool as possible ... interesting to see.Brian
