Hi all been infected with superpccleaner that hijacks my IE default page.

Tried all the usual scans Spybot, Ad-Aware etc etc but can't get rid of it :buttrock:

Hopefully some of the many IT boffins that reside here can offer some assistance.

I would prefer some nice easy software download than some manual process as I am sure to stuff that up

Thanks in advance

Try a system restore to before you got it.

Get Adaware or spysweeper and reboot in safemode and clean.

That should do it.

If not find some online resources that show what files and registry entries to remove.

That just gives you more headaches, spyware/trojans/virus' 9 times out of 10 infect the information store (restore points) for the purpose of rooting you around even more.

Sophos AV will destroy any known virus/spyware/trojan in minutes

Hijack This will fix it, it'll let you remove home pages, default search pages etc but tis not novice friendly. You can down load it here - Hijack THis

Sugest you download it run it and take a screen capture of the results if your not sure of which line to delete.

Thanks guys :buttrock:

Downloaded "SuperAntiSpyware" seems to have done the job.

Detected heaps of stuff that Adaware,Spybot, SpySweeper etc did not pick up despite having latest updates.Free as well.
