I got new plugs with a smaller gap from repco.

nkg iridium blk6eix or something.. have a .8mm gap outta the packet.

to gap plugs get a .8mm spacer thing and just tap the top bit with a hammer or something to close the gap.

not sure on the thermostat, sorry

it does say on the iridium packet that the gap shouldn't be adjusted, the tip is very easily broken or something, but just about everyone does it without a drama.

I just got my first Flash tuner togay Thanks Muzza

I bought some NGK plug that where recommened in the box alot cheaper than the factory ford - they seem fine.

I used feeler gauges (thin strips of metal at different thicknesses) got a thickness of 0.76 and lightly tapped the plug with a hammer to close the gap. Make sure the feeler gauges can still slide in the gap freely ( a snug fit)

Before doing any work on the cooling system make sure the car is not hot and the cooling system is not under pressure. You have to remove the top thermostat housing to change the thermostat. The housing is bolted down with two 13mm bolts. With the thermostat housing off you will see the thermostat sitting in the lower thermostat housing. Remove old thermostat and put new one in. When you put the new thermostat in make sure you use a new oring, you can get away with using the old oring but you should put a new one on (their not expensive anyway). Put the top housing back on and tighten bolts. When refilling cooling system you should bleed the air out off the system aswell. To do this you remove the hose that goes to the top thermostat housing untill a steady stream of coolant comes out of it (the housing that is) then put the hose back on. Fill header tank to correct level then put cap back on. Its a pretty easy job. Hope that's helpfull

Do you really need to fit a lower temp thermostat? And wat temp do you go down to?

Its more so that the fans engage earlier rather than waiting to get to the 'optimal temperature'

So all the lower temp thermo does is engage the fans earlier..

I guess it would be useful in the summer if you thrash the crap out of your car all the time.
