Express Motoring Group (EMG) teams up with Springnats

Express Motoring Group (EMG), responsible for such iconic Australian performance motoring magazine titles as Extreme Street, Street Commodores, Hot4s, Fast Fours and Zoom, has teamed up with Les Adams and Daryl George, the brains behind the equally renowned modified automotive events Springnats and Autofest.

Now exclusive media partners with Springnats, Murray Bridge Autofest and Wodonga Autofest, all 10 EMG magazine titles will be making a strong, concerted presence at each of the three events, starting November 23 in Shepparton, VIC, with the 15th anniversary of Springnats.

Besides the super-strong line-up of events that make up Springnats, expect to see some of the country’s top feature cars on display around our trade stand, which will hold a wide array of merchandise, back issues, DVDs and other branded paraphernalia for you to sample. We’ll bring you more information on which of our top feature cars will attend the show as the weeks progress.

Springnats is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and the event is set to go off with a mighty bang! Watch as the monster skidpan roars into life with driving events and demonstration drifting, burnouts and a ton more action. Or, stroll down to the purpose-built burnout pad to witness one of the most hotly contested burnout comps in the country!

Attracting up to 30,000 spectators annually and bringing over $14 million to the region over the weekend of the show, Springnats is an important event on the annual Australian car show calendar, and one that is not to be missed as it celebrates its 15th birthday.

Only problem with a great event, is the police presence.

I know, you do wrong, you get caught, bad luck yudda yudda yudda., but they go well and truly over the top.

It's a bit like easternats, and just about every car that leaves, gets the once over from mr plod. We do the right thing and take it to track, and as soon as we leave... BANG, disco lights and a " regulation licence check sir " *cough**cough* licence check my arse.

Im with ENVI-t the last couple of years I went I got a canary, I was not doing a thing wrong, just going through there check points, my cars are quiet to keep there attention away, but becasue they look modded they get done. for these reasons I also will never attend another. 6-8years ago there was none of this, the good ol days. Nothing against the organisers, because I have attended car events I just take the stock car and even then I got a canary on a 5 year old immaculate car (easy to get off though).

BLOOD, SWEAT AND GEARS

As part of the 2007 Spring Car Nationals, Fox 8 will be filming an eight part series developed by Turtle Wax aptly named Blood, Sweat and Gears which will go to air on the network early in 2008.

Blood Sweat & Gears, the first TV program of its kind in Australia will put drivers and cars through their paces in a number of grueling challenges to find the ultimate King of Cars.

Spring Car Nationals organiser, Les Adams said the program is fantastic for Shepparton.

“There will be national and possibly international coverage so it will definitely put Shepparton and Spring Nats on the map,” said Mr Adams.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Jenny Houlihan echoed the comments from Mr Adams, saying the town will benefit greatly from the coverage.

“People flock to the town for the Spring Nats weekend, and Blood Sweat & Gears will give them further incentive,” said Cr Houlihan.
