Rented a VE from Avis and kept it 1 day then took it back and swapped it for a territory. What a noisey, plasticky, poor visioned piece of JUNK. If GM spent a billion dollars on this thing then someone should get their ar$e kicked. IMHO the VZ was a better car. The thing I had the unfortunate day with was an OMEGA with 20,000klm on it , poor brakes, poor visibility, the handling is nothing exceptional and the engine sounds exactly like the same old rattly Buick VN, VP, VR, VS, VZ thing they have always fobbed off as a modern engine. The BF is a much better car all round in all quarters, which makes me assume that the motor magazine writers have been influenced in a way that perhaps they should not have been. One good thing is that the ORION won't hsave to be anything too special to blow this billion dollar debacle out of the water. My dad's got a Calais V and my gf's dad has the SS-V and from my experience driving both of them a fair bit, I've found them to be a great car. Your experience wsa in the Omega... the lowest level VE, that could explain why it looked and felt so cheap. The only promblem I have, and I know it has been well documented... and that is the reduced vision due to the massive A-pillar.Other than that, I would rate them as a great car to drive. We all know that the VE is a good car, but we all own F6/XR6 Turbo's. The thing is most of us probably don't care. I new the VE was going to be pretty good (Wheels Car of the Year plus numerous other awards) But I still bought an XR6 T. Bashing the commy is just a waste of time, lets wait for the Orion and see how much better it is. Everyone feel free to disagree with me if you want. Geez, they were accurate on that one.Another GMH Wheels car of the year triumph was the Camira.Considdering for some reason that Expensive Daewoo has always traditionally been a media favorite, I wouldn't begrudge anyone for letting off some steam when they find a crappy one.
