I was wondering how to go about temporarily disabling the ABS system for a skid competition coming up... I think I read a while back but cant remember, that if you jack up the car and spin a wheel before turning the key, the car thinks it has a faulty wheel sensor and so switches teh ABS off... can anone confirm if this works?

Try pulling the ABS fuse.

That will probably make the warning light come on but I think it would disable the system.

My TCS light came on permanently & brakes were spazzing out every time I came to a slow stop or crawling in traffic

(prob wheel sensor, brake pedal switch)

I just pulled the ABS fuse out and goodbye clunk.!

However, now I obviously have no TC & DSC.. Which is fine.

But how bad is it drive without ABS? Not track just road driving

Not to mention the 3 new warning lights - The scary red exclamation mark.

Lift up the bottom part of the rear seat and disconnect one of the sensors there. You'll get an abs and traction control light but neither will work until its re-connected and you still get to keep your speedo. Takes 30secs.
