A car pushing out 10+PSI will dose more than a stock one obviously

A car pushing out 10+PSI will dose more than a stock one obviously If you remove the vacum line the BOV will open and vent once the pressure inside the intake manifold becomes positive. You need pressure in this line to hold the bov closed until you close the throttle.

You need pressure in this line to hold the bov closed until you close the throttle.Remember the std bosch valve is reverse vented so on std boost I doubt it will open as boost is acting on the side of the valve and not from underneath as on a conventional valve. I have tested this on std boost and put a pod filter on and it dosed like hell. Having said this I wouldn't want to be driving around with the BOV on and the vac lines closed off though as there is a chance that you may leak boost as the valve sits flush and doesn't overlap... if you check inside the valve one will see what I mean. Cheers.

However been in cars with no BOV myself I actually agree with Adrian on this now. I am yet to see a damaged turbo as a result of not running a BOV. BOV on the Turbo 6 is basically designed to keep noise to a minimum and being reverse vented it also lets air bypass the turbo when cruising and at idle (under vacuum situations) therefore theoretically lowering fuel consumption. I think it's now safe to say that removing the factory BOV will not damage your turbo. Same as not letting your car idle for a minute after driving (ok thrashing probably a different story with the idle). Some good info of your experience Adrian, cheers PS regardless of the BOV debate if you don't want lag between gearchanges..... FLATSHIFT. It will take two 10th's of ya 1/4 mile times

Probably get a bit of silicon tube (even use the original) and cable tie it to the metal and then block the other end with something and cable tie that so it doesn't leak. It baffles me why garrett themselves promote the use of BOV`s (look up thier web site) and yet somone as clued up as simon can say the opposite???who to believe??? nispro or garrett? both have proven their expertise in their field...
