fools and tradesmen

Half of my mates are tradies and I have used a squillion others at times and confer that they're awful to deal with. Most are great at their trade, but have zero knowledge of business and proper communication, which is why you want to stab the *beep* to death most of the time.

The tradies who drive great cars, work from an office, own all the toys under the sun (including their house + holiday house/s), play plenty of golf and enjoy life - they're the ones that manage their time, communicate well and know what people want/expect from a transaction. Tradies earn decent money, so they can afford to use some to take a business course.

Ford service has broken down.

The front of shop operation is quite slick, with coffee machines and fast bookings etc, however the technical ability and or drive to realize a technical solution is gone.

It is a shame. The car is amazing. However, the Dealerships' lack the will and or the ability to keep these cars running in reasonable order. There is something seriously wrong when the Dealerships simply cannot repair a major problem the first, second... tenth or eleventh time...

It is obviously a problem that affects multiple dealers.

I cannot justify the purchase of another Ford, and that bugs me, a lot.

Alas,

Regards,

aa

By far the best assessment of Ford service written on here to date!

Love the car, the way it goes and the way it drives but the forever and ongoing above experiences means it will be my last Ford too.

I've never had a problem with my dealership - but I haven't used them since I bought the car. Dealerships are for sales and warranty issues only in my opinion. If the issues with your car continue, you crash it through their front window and get a freshie on insurance.

I thought everyone followed this same mindset. :tonguepoke:

Quick update - found the actual service quite good - Bryce looked after me well enough, although one of the machanics argued that "just because the weights had been removed frmo the tailshaft doesn't mean it's not balanced" :spoton:

Picked up the car 2 days later as they promised, so all good... but then I drove it. The front suspension they'd supposedly tightened made the same noises as it did when I dropped it off. The wheels they's rotated to get rid of the high speed vibration hadn't made any difference, the steering wheel still felt like one of the spice girls in full shimmy mode at 100kph

Get the feeling they never test drove it once, neither before or after the service.

So it's booked in again on Monday, hopefully they'll get it right this time

I believe that they state this too everyone but rarely take them for a test drive as its to time consuming for them. There not going to make money test driving cars when they could be fixing them and avoid delaying other paying customers.

My diff clunk and suspension creaks always come back as soon as I get the car back from them. And the paperwork always says it was test driven with all o.k.

I dropped my 2006 XR6T off to City Ford Sydney for its 15,000 km service this morning. The car is stock, with all the options. I supplied my own oil – Edge 0W40.

The service consultant tried to deny warranty on the rattling sunroof as he said it was aftermarket. When I argued he asked me to prove it – which I did by sending through the original contract.

He then went on to argue with nearly every item that I raised.

All in all one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I will not be returning to this nest of jabbering turkeys.

Is there a Ford Mechanic in the Inner West of Sydney who offers decent service and is able to treat their customers with some degree of respect?

I used to work for city ford Rockdale left because of how bodgy they were charging customers upsells things they didn't really need and not even doing them it's all about robbing customers bodgy work thrashing their cars multiple come backs unlike them I didn't agree with their methods so I didn't last long their and most the time they don't even use the right oil and don't change ac filters

the whole thing about service guys at dealerships up selling sh*t not needed really fks me off... and  every year they get more pushy. the amount of arguments ive had.

unfortunately ford ripped my mum and sister off on a minor service (fiesta), I told them 200 ish as I called them. sister tells me a week later they spent nearly 500. im yet to lose my sh*t over it.
