IMPORTANT INFO!!!!!

IMG00051.jpg

I was driving today and my car had a massive air leak. When I got up it, it sounded like a jet, and when I backed off, I had a what was identical to a BOV sound, problem is, I wasn't running a BOV at all! This tip looked fine from all angles, until I took it off. That there was only 1/4 inch left attatched had me very concerned. If you do this, you may suck in a fairly thick peice of rubber, and it's by by front compressor and the rest!

The other funny thing is, I have put the factory BOV back in place, and the bastard seems to go harder!! I miss my dose but this still gives a little noise.

My advice to all you budding Barry Bolt ons is to do it properly with a pipe cap or something similar. The other tip had cracks in it, and it wouldn't have been long before it too went split.

that's just the problem MiKa! Mine had been on for almost 12 months, and it only happened today.

Something metal, how are you going to clamp it into place? Get a heater hose etc, blanking cap, they are designed for heat and pressure.

Oh and considering that it was ME who began this whole chair tip shebang, a long time ago, I would hate to think that a simple mod could cause serious damage, and that would not sit well with me.

Goodluck, do it properly and you won't have a worry, fukit up, and saving for a turbo rebuild.

If somebody was to come pick them up by friday night from Footscray I could organize to have some blanking caps turned up that you could just hose clamp in place.

They'd be a small mild steel T piece that you could push into the hose with a small ridge cap to stop them slipping inside.

I'd need the inside hose dia and quantity required.

Free to good homes. :fear (5):

So 11am on Sunday 16th at Bunnings on Canterbury Road?? I think a few of us are ok with this time and place... Im in, but not to sure about cruising though

Bunnings it is! 11am Sunday.

Since we are at bunnings, anyone who needs to buy the chair stops can do that there too. I'll bring a drill along for the holes.

See everyone there.

PEACE! Alex.

Good stuff I'll see you guys there. Is anyone near Footscray and able to get those blanking caps of Dags?

Also all my tools are in my Commi up in the Country, Madmaximus you mind if I pinch a few just to do the bov mod?
