Really... I haven't heard any "bad press" about CGU.

Whats the goss??

I'm a little worried because Im with CGU as well.

I got a REAL cheap price through a broker, which makes me a little worried at times.

$1200 for the year on a car that's in a business name and a driver that's 22.

Does this price sound dodgy to you guys?

J.

They tried to screw a mate of mine over who's wife collapsed at the wheel and ran into some cars and a shop front. They said that she had a pre-diagnosed medical condition which they should have been advised of. But where on the insurance applications does it ask you about your medical history, they only wont to know about your driving history. To cut a long story short, my mate won, not without having to involve lawyers and also taking 6 months of rooting around. Had they lost, they would have been up for over $100,000 and would have almost lost their house over it. Talk about dodgy.

I think they'd all try that tactic, no matter what company you're dealing with.

The onus is always on the customer to determine what info they need to be notified of, and it will only rear it's ugly little head when the sh*t has already hit the fan. Not everyone reads every line of the product disclosure statement though. :stupid:

We pay $400 PA to insure our XR6T with CGU. My wife pranged it big time last year. Bill was $14000.00. CGU paid up no probs except they wanted to choose the repairer but we won in the end.

im an insurance broker and I'll always get stupidly low premiums for my clients and their vehicles.

I place heaps of business through CGU and have been doing so for many years, never any issues. They have a good claims process and if you want your own repairer, then no probs.

They will eventully be bought out by QBE, but that wont hurt the market at all.
