Had a mate behind me this morning and he said when I cracked it there was an initial big puff of brown smoke.

Havent been giving it the berries of late so is this something to worry about, needs a tune, what ??

Was serviced about 5000kms ago (doesnt mean much) but maybe a visit to my local tuner is needed.

Penny for your thoughts.

Brown is nothing to worry about, it's fuel.

As you jump right on it from down low your car will richen the mixture to prepare for large amounts of boost coming on board...

Mine does it, and every tuned turbo car I've seen does it...

It's nothing to worry about.

I thought brown was just a bit of rust being loosened up from inside the exhaust, caused from lots of slow around town driving, then as it gets a decent blast it clears its throat?

There is such a beast as a rich ping..

The timing would have to be studily advanced to do it though which I very much doubt it would be. That or the plugs are fouled and the cars just not burning the fuel.

She is not pinging and runs like a scalded cat.Maybe she is just clearing her throat as I have have not put the boot in for a while.

Will check it out with my local tuner this week just for piece of mind.

Got 297rwkw and was thinking of putting a wastegate actuator and fuel pump on.Will it give me more power considering the mods I have already and if so how much (love to join the 300 club).Mods are edit, injectors, valve springs, pwr I/cooler,smb dump pipe and sports cat.

mine does the same after about 80-100 km of crusing around,

"Maybe she is just clearing her throat as I have have not put the boot in for a while"

that's all it is mate just carbon build up. Give her a sqirt every 50 to 100 km to keep everthing clean.

Excuse to officer, "I have to give her a boot every now and then to keep her clean" lol

Pinging with fuel smoke coming out the back :bangcomputer:

Although what descrived here is the fuel enrichment, Pinging does cause black smoke "pops"..

Watch cars on dynos, as they are running up, you will notice some have a black "pop" of smoke out the exhaust when they ping, even if the ping isnt audiable with the ears (get a knock box onto it)
