Make sure the cooling system is up to scratch though. Check for swelling around the top and bottom hoses and if the oring to the back of the water pump has been leaking. Leaking head gaskets were abit of a problem but easy to fix. The radiator tanks used to leak aswell. Pricks. The XR6's were quicker than the 8's though, 15.1 down the quarter in manual form, they handle and drive quite well but as mentioned the brakes are pretty poor, but nothing a good set of slotted rotors and pads wouldn't fix. nathen ride the lightning Donating Members 338 Member For: 18y 7m 7d Gender: Male Location: sydney Posted 31/08/07 07:16 AM Share Posted 31/08/07 07:16 AM I just sold 1.if your young bloke is after a manual take care ..have a real good look where the clutch cable goes through the firewall.the ef/el have a big problem in this area . splitting around the hole for the clutch cable and the metal on the firewall does split/when this happens you will have no clutch and will need to remove the brake master cylinder and weld a plate. to inspect the fire wall pull the sound deadning stuff off the fire walland have a good look.also they are prone to noise in the diff.if the car hasnt got coolant walk away.
