I'll show my age, but my first car was a 1953 Ford Consul. I had it in 1970 but it was like new. Good, simple car to start with.

Over the years I think I can remember about 30 other cars, with about a quarter of them being Fords. I've own cars from Datsun, Hillman, Vauxhall, Morris, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Chrysler and probably some other, but I've never owned a Expensive Daewoo after I test drive one and it broke down during the test drive.

I'm sticking to Ford, and a Falcon as long as they exist. Local product, great value.

My pop's mint condition 1974 LH Torana. Still with original paint in perfect condition (silver) had 80,000 genuine km on the clock. 3sp on the tree and a 186... I got it when I was 16 (2000).

Put in an M20 4sp, 2.5 in exhaust, lowered, big hotwires, all new interior.

I had a blown and injected V6 motor from a VT ready to go in, when I stupidly wrote the car off....

Lession learned...

1969 Datsun 1600

Was a POS when I got it, but I was only 16 and wanted to start rallying. Took me about 12 months of afterschool work to get it to spec, hence the school grades went downhill. I ended up leaving school so I could afford to start racing.

Lost the drivers licence I never had when I was 17, busted driving to work,,,but that's another story. (and a funny one)

Raced the Datto for a couple of years till I got into the next class.

EJ Holden Sedan...but that was 2 years before I got my license...

First car with a license was an LH SLR Torana 253 with a 4 speed crunch box.

19 years ago :beerchug::Show Us Your Tts: Back when the roads were worse, drum brakes on the rear, crumple zones were just coming in and airbags were only available on luxury models....now we have to drive slower on wider better roads with 4 wheel discs and airbags all over the shop.... :sleepystuff:

'74 KB Centura. The old Hemi started my love affair with straight sixes.

Crap car really but it was pretty quick for its time.
