Firstly... El Monster, good to have you here

to all: for a guy who kind of stretched the limit to get the car, and needs to be very convincing to the g/f that these mods are really not that expensive...

is a generic tuned flash kit even worth considering for a self-install?

and can that box then have the infamous custom XFT tune later on?

and what kind of $$ would you be looking at for just the edit, if possible?

Dan - I would say that's a YES especially if it's your intention to ultimately see XFT for a custom tune.

well I'm starting off with just a 1000 bucks for now and see how far this will get me, if this is too little please tell me cause I'm still new to these flashers and custom tune boxes and stuff. Oh and I live in melbourne's south east and it's a ba mkII 05". And who would be a good tuner to check out and have a convo with? names and places would help me. :banghead:

The way prices for edit boxes are droping, The edit and a custom tune could be had for under a grand.

Plenty of cheap edit boxes for sale, and a couple of cheap intercoolers. That and a custom tune, good starting point, as that is what it will be.

Headsex seems to have a good name on the board here. There is also busines called Nizpro, which you may have heard of . While not as well known as headsex, the guys at Nizpro seem to have a bit of an idea of what to do to get the best out of a T. If I were back in Melbourne I would use them. Mackay is a little bit of a drive from Melbourne but I would still consider using them! :roll:
