It seems the new 3 speed of choice is the turbo 400.

Both KEAS and protrans have recommended it to me over a C4/9/10 as they are more capable of handling big power in heavy cars. I think someone on here has one fitted and its likely the way I will go when my manual transmission breaks.

I was looking into the C4 and Turbo 400 and spoke to Protrans Keas and Al's Race glides and they all recommended a Turbo 400 because it would handle alot more power. They all seemed to think that the C4 would not last long.

You can get a overdrive for the C4's and Turbo 400's there around 3K but you get four gears so great for highway runs. Both boxes are similar money but the Turbo 400 is the way to go.

I believe TWEAKN is now running a Turbo 400 in his Jet. ;)

Are you saying that the overdrive is 3K extra? or the whole gbox

Yeah Chris is runnning the box, but in speaking to him, he likes the box but being only three speed he reccomended not to get the Turbo 400 with out the overdrive.

Overdrive is between $3K-3.5K gives you 4 gears but also gives you the option of splitting the gears and running even six gears.

If you could adapt a Mopar (Chysler) 727 auto, it is the best.

These are also indestructible and used by many dragsters over the years.

They are pretty strong but not indestructable. Mark Arblaster broke a number of them before he switched to a powerglide in his blown 440 Valiant.
