well whats the bloody go cant cappa put generic tunes on the flasher that are gunna be safe lets say if u want to run the 10 psi tune u must have say a short list eg k&n filter or like new gapped plugs minimum um other typical things that is gunna let the tune be safe and get the most of it . this flash tuner sound about as helpful as a standard computer on a falcon every time my xr8 au3 got sumthin new it had to go back and a new chip burnt and that was only 600$ and u colud keep the old chips just for the hell of it or at least sell them. hasnt any of u computer wizzes found a loop hole where we, us ,clients can maybe swop these expensive custom tunes between flash boxes. There has got to be more than meets the eye with these flashtuners.

Even a custom tune would not be gauranteed to be safe if used in another car with the same mods, every car responds a little bit different which is why even the generics can not be gauranteed

The only safe way is to custom tune the car it will also maximise the power gains

yeh fair enough but the most of the pickiest ppl would say if that's the case your car is only gunna run sweet when all the factors of when u got it tuned are in place :eg temp tyre press type of fuel wich is going to be what 5% of the time

Your correct about fuel, if you have it tuned on 98 and then run it on 95 you will kill your motor, because it will not tolerate as much timing with the same boost levels on a lesser octane fuel.

If tuned your car should always run sweet providing things like plugs and filters etc are kept up to scratch and providing you do not get any heat soak issues. Even with heat soak the motor can still be in tune to be safe providing all multipliers, adders or subtractors are set correctly, it's just it will be done on power.

But if you changed anything that may affect the tune, the tune would have to be recalibrated to be correct for the new setup

yeh this is all iam saying this flash tuner doesnt sound so flash it always has to be recalibrated wich means $$$$$$$$ no one looked down the same path as subarus with a ecutek style set up its fully ajustiable in a lap top that way all u need is a dyno run costing a total of say less than a hundred yes its about 1800$ but think about the savings with all these custome tunes every ones paying for .

Then we could be talikng about finer details of tuning on this forum anyone done a ecutek?

You could always buy a flash2 and make some adjustments yourself or even buy the Advantage software which is totally adjustable.

The advantage software is what is used to tune the ECU's in our cars, do a search I'm sure there is a few threads abut it.
