The "S" ONLY has 151kw, The supercharded version ONLY has 171kw, and the "S" V8 has 235kw.

The N/A XR6 has 182kw IIRC and the XR6T has 240kw and looks a lot better IMO...need I go on.

Magnadoore "S" or XR6, hmmmmmm.

The XR6 NA slaughters the "S" let alone the turbo. Hell if he was to opt for the XR6Turbo. He would have something that is more than a match for the "SS V8".

Show him the Wheels comparo that was carried out November last year between:

S Supercharged V's XR6,

SS V's XR6 Turbo,

Calais V8 V's Fairmont Ghia, and

Executive V's XT.

Ford won EVERY comparison.

This may get him rethinking his decision.

This article still makes me feel all warm inside when I read it.

Get him to check out the article in July's edition of Motor magazine.

Then test drive any of the offerings from the Red Lion, then test drive the XR6Turbo, game set and match.

is the supercharged Late model camira only 171kw

a mate bought one and says its got heaps of power

havent seen it yet but I would have expected at least 200kw out of a supercharged motor

can any one confirm this?

that's the official figure quoted by Holden, but l think its higher than that. like you say, you would expect more power than that from going to the trouble and cost of adding a S/C.

The explanation l read somewhere a while back was since the S/C V6 was selling against the old 5lt, to avoid embarrasing it, they kept the power figures down.

l have never been in a S/C V6 or known anyone who has one, so this could be complete BS!
