It is all done.

It looks essentially the same as the pics show earlier in this thread except I have a dual zone ICC now.

I also mounted the switches for the screen overlay and PSU signal wire in different locations.

I'm trialling a touch pad for the interface device. It's a little to sensitive at the moment. I'll have to look at what I can do to change that.

Awesome work Adam,

I'm thinking of putting a carputer into my BA.

What I really want to be able to do is control video display on two rear seat LCD's for my kids to watch while the missus and I still listen to music. Have you tried anything like that?

Hi Adam- Have you installed Centrafuse 2.0 yet? I can't get the apple blue tooth to be recognised and had to give in and use an USB dongle. There is a work around - found on the apple help web site bit I couldn't get it to work.

Yep.

I'm using 2.0 RC6 at the moment. Will upgrade to RC7 over the weekend.

I haven't had any issues with bluetooth getting recognised in any of the RC's.

I only use the bluetooth for GPS. I don't run the Centrafuse stack as that's more for phone connectivity I think.

Hi Adam,

I have just installed the same VGA-CGA converter you have used and have it plugged into my laptop for an initial proof of concept on my car.

Can I ask what resolution and refresh rates you are using to get a clear image? I have tried 640x480 @ 60Hz but find it is more stable with a 70Hz input signal. I have also tried 720x480 @ 60Hz and this doesn't look too bad. Some smaller words are hard to read and I'm wondering if going to an ArcadeVGA card will be better as it has more resolution options.

I also have some slight ghosting on the words (could possibly due to noise as I don't have sheilded cable for the test).

What is the clarity like on your install on the smaller text?

Your install looks great!

Rob.

Small text was hard to read. You'd never try browsing the net on it.

I sold my set up a few months ago. I can't remember the screen settings, sorry.

I should also point out that all the wiring including making the ICC video lead and all of the install was done by myself.

I'm certainly no computer or electronics expert but I've got a bit of knowledge (which is dangerous sometimes) so anyone is quite capable of doing this themselves with a bit of advice and info from the right sources, and of course some spare time. I actually took Thursday and Friday off work so I could get stuck into installing all of this. Planning out where all the wiring and hardware will go takes a fair bit of time. It's also hard when you only have the weekends to work on it but need your car to be in a driveable state come Monday morning. It limits what you can do. But like most things it would be so much quicker and easier to do after the first time.

hey I would just like to know do you have wiring diagrams of the cable that goes to the icc?? so you have you vga cable that comes in to your rgb converter and comes out as a 6 pin plug?? I would just like to know how you wired from the 6 pin plug to the icc??

thanks buddy :)
