Think you'll have to get it tuned mate. I was going to do the same to mine as soon as I got it (because we can in NZ  ), until I found out that having a MAP car is much different to having a MAF controlled engine. The ECU won't just compensate for the changes... It packs a sad and throws it's toys out of the cot.

You will find its actually overboosting because it cant control the boost due to insufficent wastegate port flow. in turn, hitting the boost cut at 9psi

thank you all for your comments. yes the laws are different over here. I had been told that I will have to get it edited now, as I had planed, but just after I took it out I got slaped with a $12,000 GST bill so was hoping somebody out there might know a tempery fix. O well. Looks like I will just have to work harder and earn some more money. cheers.

Why dont you come to Australia and earn the big bucks?

I removed the cat and centre muffler on my factory exhaust with no other mods than a pod filter way back when I first got her and luckily had no problems with the limp mode. I have since replaced the exhaust with an xforce number and edit etc etc - I guess limp mode is another luck of the draw things - some people suffer others dont

Sorry mate I can have no sympathy, legal or not, you can afford an XR6T and yet you are willing to risk damage, act in an iresponsible social manner (my opinion). Do it properly or not at all.
