I am flying the beech on tuesday.... However it apparently has the 350hp race tuned motor currently residing under the hood..

I have always found that a beechcraft (no matter what style single screw) overtuned is hard to hold takeoff direction down the runway on full-power takeoff. Higher powered engines and narrow landing gear probably greatly contribute to this instability.

Also have found the rudder to be very sensitive unless under hard load. Unfortunately they have to use partial power for take off until airborne which restricts runway availabilty.

I reckon that it's no F-4 but it is a very stout, honest, machine

What are your thoughts?

When you do get it, keep an eye on the fuel gauge, dont want Blonk coming through the roof at 3am, because he has run out of fuel again :spoton:

If the budget allows,a Cessna 210 centurian turbo is the go.We had one.It was quicker then a Beechcraft c55 baron at altituide(220kts) and had good visability and is easy to fly.It was close too $250k thou.

All ways thought these would be good to play with.

I think they are made by the guy who designed and built Starship.

The 210 is a great plane, with good airspeed simply because you can pull the wheels up..

It really is just a 182 with retractables for 100k more..

The 182 with a good wog tune would flog the 210 wheels out and all

Havent even looked at a 210 cause it is outta my league at this stage, but I know where you are coming from Daz

have you seen/considered the burt rutan canards? like the long ezy etc

can fly acroos the country on a single tank...

very fast, efficient etc

looks very unique/slick

jumping out of them is outa the question though!
