I agree that the dispaly dimming with the lights on during the day is an oversight. My car is white but I still would prefer to have the low beams on when driving on the highway.

As the high series ICC / auto lights on cars already have the sun sensor installed, I thought that it would have been simple for the car to realise that if the lights were turned on manually but it was still sunny / not dark enough for the auto lights, the software would leave the screen bright. It would then dim as the ambient light fades.

It's a pain to try and see the ICC with sunnies on.

Im exactly the opposite actually! I would like to have the screen dimmed all of the time. I dont have any trouble seeing it in the daylight, and I think the black screen with white/blue characters looks quite modern and classy, and that grey/silver screen looks horrible!

I used to drive with my lights on in the country, but ive started putting them on all of the time because I cant stand the ugly grey screen!

I'm sure its just a matter of finding the signal that the car gives to the ICC to make it dim, and give it a constant 12V signal (or whatever) so that it always stays black.

I agree it does look more classy with the black background rather than the grey background
