that is interesting i only have 1150mm inbetween my wheel arches (my ute is a 03 xr6 n/a) i had to take lenths of timber to put gyprock sheets on when i had to pick some up. maybe ford put the wrong tub liner in your ute only a problem if you want to put wider tyres on like 19 or 20 by 10's.

the xl & xls tubs are designed to take a 1200 by 2400 sheet with the tailgate down.

sanzort if u get a xr6t and the pallet dosn't fit change the tub liner to a xl 1 with the larger wheel arch space if buying from a ford dealer try and get them to do it for free to make the sale.

I've remeasured mine and i definatly have 1200mm between the arches...i also have AU tail lights with no amber section like the BA ones so i wonder if mines an AU tub?? my ute is a july 03 xr6t...... :roflmbo:

Yeah Chep pallets are a no go in my BA as well... ahh for the sake of 1/2 an inch....

Loscam pallets are the same, as for pretty much every other standard hardwood/plastic pallet. Maybe you could try throw a smaller pine pallet or something in between as a spacer to stack the chep on top of, but then that defeats the purpose.

Even dad's old XF had the same troubles and I thought when I was looking at getting mine I remembered hearing they'd fit, but maybe like yas said its only the XLs etc

You would think that Ford would take into account what the standard size of a pallet would be though. I mean, the chep pallets are standard size everywhere I would think? Is it possible that Ford are trying to change the size of pallets to suit there liners?

Yeah, but I guess even if they made it that one inch wider, getting a loaded pallet up forward enough over the rear axle with a forklift from behind, while navigating between the arches wouldn't really be ideal anyway, and having the load right on the arse end would make the steering a little light to say the least...

They're probably banking on anyone buying an XR more likely to be putting on wider tyres and carrying less loads, and anyone wanting to cart around pallets putting a tray on instead, or a towball and trailer, or buying a courier/ranger/whatever they're called now.

Still... just one inch... :fear (5):

Just did some measuring of my utes - interesting :fear (5):

BA 03 XR6T width between wheel arches is 1150mm

BA 04 RTV width between wheel arches is 1200mm

Is there any reason why you cant just swap the liners over??
